Día de los Muertos Community Art Day

9/25/2021 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM PT

The Museum of Sonoma County is proud to partner with Life on Earth Art in the creation of a community altar for the 2021 Día de los Muertos exhibition. Join us on September 25th and October 3rd from 12:00 to 4:00 PM to make a paper mâché winged heart in honor of your loved one for this year’s community altar. Participants are encouraged to include a memory or dedication to their loved one to display alongside their hearts, which will be displayed in the exhibition from October 16th - November 7th. Please visit our website for more information on the exhibition. https://museumsc.org/2021-dia-de-los-muertos/

Life on Earth Art brings people together to make art for large-scale installations, protests and public rituals. Life on Earth Art is currently working on a 6-month project with one of California’s largest psychiatric hospitals to co-create a 60-foot sculpture of wonder: hundreds of winged hearts flying free from an antique cage.  To learn more and participate, please visit their website at www.LifeOnEarthArt.com.
