Future is Fermented: Sonoma County Terroir, In Partnership with the Sonoma County Library

7/31/2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM PT

Join Sonoma County Library and the North Bay chapter of the Pink Boots Society at the Museum of Sonoma County for the third talk in our series, the Future is Fermented: Sonoma County Terroir.

The Museum of Sonoma County is currently hosting an exhibit entitled, "On Tap: Sonoma County Hops & The Beer Revolution," which is described as in Sonoma County, hops were the king of crops for more than half a century. By 1976, the hops were long gone, yet, in the town of Sonoma, the first microbrewery in the nation was born. Today, we take microbreweries and world-class beer for granted. Every year, thousands of people descend on Sonoma County for the release of internationally renowned beers. But how did it come to be? Why Sonoma County? Join us for this exciting exhibition and raise a glass to the rich history of hops in Sonoma County. Cheers!

Join us at the Museum from 5:00-6:00 pm to view the "On Tap" exhibit, and then for a moderated panelists' talk and Q&A from 6:00-7:30 about growing hops, grapes, and apples and how climate, water, and soil all contribute to the finished fermented product. Conversation moderated by Herlinda Heras.

Program is free for all. No RSVP necessary.
