Blacksmithing is alive in Sonoma County. Visit the Museum of Sonoma County to see the creativity of modern day Blacksmiths as they present a variety of works forged by dedicated group of artists and crafts people. Included will be functional, sculptural, abstract, architectural, whimsical, ornate, and simple forged items made of metal. Whitesmiths, Yellowsmiths, and Redsmiths - names based on the metals that they specialize in-may be featured as well. Come and find out.
The exhibition will also include a selection of artifacts and stories of Sonoma County blacksmiths of the past- describing the important role played by 'smithies of days gone by.
